The City’s upcoming decision to keep Connections for the Homeless permanently stationed at 1566 Oak has an enormous impact on many residents lives, emotionally, financially, psychologically. It affects the viability of business’ long term ability to succeed.
We present data and facts regarding the long term health of our City. If they are approved to stay in at the Margarita, the City would have, for all practical purposes, have created a destination hub for all homeless people, inappropriate for a City of our size.

ABOUT US
We are community-minded people. Our group has volunteers in nearly every sector of Evanston. We contribute time, money, energy, resources. We give and give thoughtfully and abundantly. Some of us were previous donors to Connections. Unfortunately, in the current political climate, any posture except one of wholehearted support for this Low Barrier Homeless Shelter is not only frowned upon, but vilified. This extreme moral signaling has precluded the City Council from undertaking the MOST BASIC steps to protect our neighbors, Ward, and City.
